About this task

You can set the proxy type as None or Manual Configuration. If you select Manual Configuration, contact your local IT department if you need help with specifying the proxy server values.

Procedure

  1. Click the Settings icon on the main window. See Software Manager introduction.
  2. Click None to use your machine's default connection to the Internet.
    Note: If you select None, the host and port values are retained and not cleared, but not used. If you select Manual Configuration, the host and port fields are enabled.
  3. Click Save. The proxy settings take effect immediately.
    Note: When you click Save, the changes to host and port values save, even if the fields are disabled. If you leave the port field blank, the value resets to 80 when you save, even if you have selected None.
