Procedure

  1. In the Software Manager's License Inventory table, click the Choose Actions menu for the license you want to deactivate.
  2. Click Deactivate.
  3. Click Offline with a License Deactivation File.
    Note: In the Deactivate Offline wizard, the following message displays: Choose a license that you want to deactivate. with a table that lists a radio button to select one license to activate, the License Type, and Features associated with the license. If you use an invalid deactivation file or string, Error! displays in the License Type column. The Bundle icon displays beside the license type if there is more than one feature is deactivated using the deactivation file or string entered.
  4. Select one license to deactivate and click Proceed, or click Cancel to exit.
  5. Enter the path for the location of the license deactivation file or click the folder icon to browse to the file, select the file and click Open; or, paste its contents in the Use a string (paste below) field.
  6. Click Deactivate. A license release file is created.
  7. Click the Download Release File link to download the release file.
    Note: You must upload the license release file to the License Portal to fully complete the license deactivation and make the license available for reuse.
    Note: If the deactivation file or string are invalid, an error message displays in red in the Features column. If the offline deactivation does not work, verify that you have the correct license deactivation file for the displayed product license and try again. See Troubleshooting for more information.
