Use the Utility Pricing section to define utility pricing rates for the utilities purchased for use in the plants under Plant Optimizer monitoring and control. You can define utility pricing using manual inputs or API integrations to real-time or day-ahead pricing that Plant Optimizer can use to create seven day forecasts. Use the manual inputs option to set up bill components with utility types for demand, usage, block and index, or transport. The rate structure schedule is the period over which the particular rate structure and its pricing is in effect, and the rate is the price over different periods of time. Enter a schedule and rate from available rate structures to be in effect for a particular duration.

1. In the navigation bar, click Future Inputs and select Utility Pricing on the right side of the menu.
2. From the Supplier list, select a utility type.
3. From the Bill Component list, select a component option.
4. To add a rate structure schedule, click Add Rate Structure Schedule.
5. In the Add Rate Structure Schedule window, in the Schedule Name field, enter a name.
6. From the Start Date & Time and End Date & Time calendars, select the start and end dates, and times that you want to add the rate structure schedule. If you do not enter an end date value, Plant Optimizer applies the rate indefinitely.
7. Enter an explanation for the schedule. This explanation appears in the Audit Log. For more information about the Audit Log, see Working with the audit log.
8. Click Schedule. The new rate appears in the chart and Plant Optimizer includes this rate in operational calculations and dispatches.
9. Click Add Rate to add a rate for a schedule.
10. In the Add Usage Rate Plan window, from Rate Plan Structure, select from two options:
    • Constant Rate for a single rate.
    • Time of Use for multiple rates, depending on the season, day of the week, or time of day.
11. For Constant Rate, from the Start Month and Start Year lists and the End Month and End Year lists, select a start month and year, and an end month and year.
    1. In the Price Rate field, enter a rate.
    2. Enter a reason for the change of rate, and click Save.
12. For Time of Use, in the Name field, enter a name for Season 1.
    1. From the Start Month and Start Year lists and the End Month and End Year lists, select a start month and year, and an end month and year for Season 1.
    2. Select from All Week, Weekdays, and Weekends. Click Add Time Slot and select an option from the list. When you select an option you can enter the time parameters and enter a rate.
    3. Click Add Season to add different rates for different time periods. You can add a maximum of three seasons.
    4. Enter a reason for the change of rate, and click Save.
13. Optional: You can use the slider at the bottom of the rate screen to view a summary of the rate plan. The summary includes information about the rate plan, if it’s a constant or time of use rate, if seasons are scheduled, and a notes section. Rates entered prior to Plant Optimizer version v2022.Q4 upgrades are still effective, but display as ineffective until you save a new rate change for that utility type and bill component type.

    To delete a rate plan:

    Click the Delete icon at the bottom of the Summary window and the Delete Utility Pricing Rates window opens. You can move between the season tabs and all week, weekdays, and weekend tabs. Write a note in the Notes section before you delete the rate plan. You cannot delete a plan without a note. If you do not write a note then you get an error message. Click Delete to delete the plan.
