You can create faults in the Setup tab. To select from EM’s global rules, go to the Global rules tab in the Setup tab. In the Global rules tab, you can create energy faults, thresholds, and equipment faults based on the global rules EM provides.
Alternatively, you can create custom faults by selecting the Custom rules tab. From this tab, you can start from a template and create rules, thresholds, diagnostics and personalized categories, in each of the subsequent tabs, with the option of creating system-wide faults.
In both the Sub Rules and System Fault Rules tabs, you have access to a Fault Inline Editor. Fault equations are easily editable from a keyboard, enhancing the user experience while writing rules.
Special characters are available when creating rules to call out attributes, constants, sub rules, and specifications in the rule equations.
Additional statistical functions such as minimum, maximum, average, standard deviation, and square root are also available for creating FDD rules. You can write a fault containing multiple data points.
