Before you begin your OBEM installation, you must first plan how you are going to install OBEM on to your site. You must gather specific information about the site, such as the building equipment and meters available, what your desired outcome is for using OBEM, and assess how the site can meet the specific requirements of OBEM. Use the following sections to better prepare and plan the installation of OBEM on to your site. You must provide the information that you gather to your local OBEM branch team.
It is recommended that you complete the following tasks:
- Complete the customer checklists.
- Review the OBEM documentation and training materials.
- Read through the Security and IT Guide and provide this guide to your site network professionals to read through also.
- Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that you want to record using OBEM.
- Prepare a list of available equipment and meters in your site that you want to map to OBEM.
- Add or create additional meter points that you may not have in your site.
- Review trend data from your existing BAS.
- Plan the meter hierarchy for your site.
- Gather any additional requirements that your site may need in order to install OBEM.
