Verify that you have the Johnson Controls extended application and data server (ADX or ADS) system configuration that you require to install OpenBlue Enterprise Manager. Contact your Johnson Controls administrator to obtain the following information:

  • Johnson Controls application and data server (ADS or ADX) software version number. EM supports Johnson Controls release 5.2 and higher.
  • Johnson Controls system user credentials. You must create a dedicated read-only user account in the SQL instance of the Johnson Controls system. EM uses this account to access the trend data. For example, mem_readonly.
  • Microsoft SQL ServerĀ® name and IP address.
  • Microsoft SQL Server read-only user account. For more information, see Creating a SQL Server read-only user account.
  • Johnson Controls analog trend extension. Use the following table to enable trend extensions for analog points for both hardware and software data collectors:
Table 1. Trend extensions for analog points
    Attribute Value
    Name Trend - Present Value
    Description
    Object Type Rend Log
    Enable True
    Start Time Unspecified
    Stop Time Unspecified
    Buffer Size 144
    Stop When Full False
    Sample Interval 900 seconds
    Client COV Increment
    Repository Enabled True
    Transfer Setpoint 4
Note: The sample interval is set at 900 seconds automatically. If you decide to change this frequency in the OpenBlue Enterprise Manager application, the meter automatically updates to your selected time frame after its next 900 second interval. This only applies to the Johnson Controls Aaeon Box.
  • Johnson Controls binary trend extension. Use the following table to enable trend extensions for binary points for both hardware and software data collectors:
Table 2. Trend extensions for binary points
    Attribute Value
    Name Trend - Present Value
    Description
    Object Type Trend Log
    Enable True
    Start Time Unspecified
    Stop Time Unspecified
    Buffer Size 20
    Stop When Full False
    Sample Interval 0
    Client COV Increment 1.0
    Repository Enabled True
    Transfer Setpoint 1
