Use this guide to install the Aaeon® hardware and configure the Windows® operating system.

About this task

You can install the Aaeon unit in a server room and complete the configuration from this location, or you can configure the Aaeon unit in an office space and then install it in a server room.

Procedure

  1. Mount the Aaeon unit in an appropriate location according to Aaeon specifications.
  2. Connect the keyboard, mouse, and monitor to the unit with any available USB and VGA ports.
  3. Connect the power supply to the unit.
  4. Connect the Ethernet cable to the unit. You must connect the Aaeon® unit directly to your data collector network.
  5. Press the power button to start the unit
  6. Complete the Windows installation with the appropriate settings for your location.
    Ensure that you do not forget your Windows username and password. If you forget your username or password, Johnson Controls must re-image the unit. For more information about re-imaging, contact Johnson Controls®.
  7. Connect the unit to the Internet. If you require a proxy connection, configure it in the Windows Network and Sharing Center® of the Aaeon unit. Contact your IT administrator to obtain details about the proxy.

Results

When the installation is complete, the TeamViewer configuration wizard launches automatically. If you do not want to grant TeamViewer remote access, do not configure a TeamViewer password. If the TeamViewer configuration wizard does not launch automatically, you must double-click the TeamViewer shortcut on the desktop of the Aaeon unit.
