A First Responder receives an emergency announcement or incident notification when there is an emergency in a building, or group of buildings in a location. The name and contact information of the First Responder is available to all users of the Companion mobile application within the First Responder's location.
About this task
Procedure
- From the Home page, in the navigation menu, select User Configuration.
- Click the First Responders tab.
- Click Create New.
- In the User name field, enter a name.
- From the Responder Type list, select the type of emergencies that alert the First Responder.
- From the Location list, select the location of the First Responder.
- From the Buildings list, select the buildings that the First Responder receives emergency announcements, and incident notifications for.

Click Save.
Responder type Description Fire The responder receives emergency announcements and incident notifications regarding fires only. Medical The responder receives emergency announcements and incident notifications regarding medical emergencies only. Bomb threat The responder receives emergency announcements and incident notifications regarding bomb threats only. Weather events The responder receives emergency announcements and incident notifications regarding weather events only. Violence The responder receives emergency announcements and incident notifications regarding violence on the premises. Power / Utility failure The responder receives emergency announcements and incident notifications regarding a power or utility failure only. Natural disasters The responder receives emergency announcements, and incident notifications regarding natural disasters only. Hazardous chemical release The responder receives emergency announcements and incident notifications regarding hazardous chemical releases only. Others The responder receives emergency announcements and incident notifications regarding any other type of emergency that is not listed. All The responder receives emergency announcements and incident notifications regarding all of the above emergency types.
