News items are messages shared with all people in the organization or targeted users. News items display on the Companion mobile application and, if selected, the Companion Desk Reservation Kiosks.
You can also create an emergency news item to send to either the registered First Responders, or to all users that are registered as an employee in the Companion mobile application. Recipients of the emergency announcement can mark themselves as safe in the Companion mobile application. Administrators can view the names of those who mark themselves safe.
