To simplify PPT start-up, you can create a desktop shortcut to the executable file. To create a desktop shortcut to the executable file, complete the following steps:
  1. Right-click C:\Program Files (x86)\Johnson Controls\PPT for Metasys Enterprise Management (MEM)\ProfessionalProductivityTools.exe.
  2. Select Create shortcut.
  3. Drag the shortcut file ProfessionalProductivityTools.exe - Shortcut to the desktop.
  4. Right-click on the desktop icon and select Properties.
  5. In the Shortcut tab, select Advanced.
  6. In the Advanced Properties window, select the Run as Administrator check box.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Select the General tab and enter a name for the shortcut, for example, PPT for JEM.
  9. Click Apply.
  10. Click OK.

Occasionally, you may have to use a run-time command line switch. You can add this to the shortcut URL after the double quotes.

To simplify access to the PPT data folders, you can create a desktop shortcut to the PPT data folder. To create a desktop shortcut to the PPT data folders, complete the following steps:
  1. Right-click anywhere on the desktop screen and select New.
  2. Select Shortcut.
  3. Use the browse option to browse to This PC, then Local Disk (C:), then ProgramData\Johnson Controls.
  4. Select PPT.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Enter a shortcut name.
  8. Click Finish.
