For proper installation and subsequent operation of the LN Series Communicating Sensors, follow these recommendations:

  • Inspect the sensors for shipping damages. Do not install damaged sensors.
  • Ensure you have proper clearance of the sensor’s casing and two RJ-45 connectors for easy access, hardware configuration, and maintenance.
  • The controllers are designed to operate under the following conditions:
    • - Ambient temperature from 41 to 104°F (5 to 40°C)
    • - Storage temperature from -4 to 122°F (-20 to 50°C)
    • - Relative humidity from 0 to 90%, noncondensing
  • Ensure proper ventilation of devices and avoid areas where corroding, deteriorating, or explosive vapors, fumes, or gasses may be present.
  • Keep the sensor at room temperature for at least 24 hours before installation to allow any condensation that may have accumulate during shipping and storage to evaporate.
  • Do not drop the sensor or subject it to physical shock.
Important: Work in a static-free area. Discharge any static electricity you may have accumulated by touching a known, securely grounded object. Do not handle the sensor without proper protection against static discharge. Use a wrist strap when handling the sensor. Secure the wrist strap clamp to earth ground.
