Procedure
- On the Settings menu, click Naming and Signal. The Preferences - Naming and Signal screen appears. See the Preferences - Naming and Signal section.
-
Click a non-shaded cell to change and type the desired text.
Notes:
- You also can use Ctrl+C to copy text from a cell and use Ctrl+V to paste the copied text to another cell. See Copying and Pasting Naming and Signal Preferences.
- You cannot edit data in columns that are shaded gray. Use the filter and sorting features to locate and view data of specific items. See the Filtering Naming and Signal Preferences and Sorting Naming and Signal Preferences sections.
-
Repeat Step 2 for other name changes.
Note: To return to the original Johnson Controls standard preferences, use the resetting options. See the Resetting Naming and Signal Preferences section.
-
Click a cell in the Signal column and select the desired signal from the drop-down list. You also can type the first letter of the signal type to quickly select it from the list.
Note:
You also can use Ctrl+C to copy text from a cell and use Ctrl+V to paste the copied text to another cell. See Copying and Pasting Naming and Signal Preferences.
Because the Signal column has a drop-down menu, you cannot use your mouse to select cells. Use the Shift and arrow keys on your keyboard to select the desired cells in this column to copy and paste.
You also can move the Signal column to another location in the table after changing one of the items to the desired signal, and then use your mouse to select the cells to copy and paste.
- Repeat Step 4 for other signal changes.
-
Click OK.
Note: Edits to naming and signal preferences appear in bold text.
