Standard tuning can be turned off, allowing you to enter your own parameters, while still allowing PRAC+ adaptive tuning to take place. This action occurs in the PID Pre-Processor.
When Standard Tuning is set to True, the parameters associated with the defined Process ID are used. In Figure 1 , the Standard Tuning is True, and the Process ID is ZN-T.
When Standard Tuning is set to False, the parameters associated with the defined Process ID are not used, and the PID Pre-Processor uses these defined parameters instead: Units, Process Range, Time Constant, Process Dead Time, Proportional Band, Integral Time, Interval, and Saturation Time. In Figure 1, the parameters are best suited for room control. If you are performing Discharge Air Temperature Control, these parameters are much too slow for good performance.
