Procedure

  1. Start the tool and open the controller application.
  2. Select the Display widget in the Features panel. The Display widget appears.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Locate the Display Setup panel.
  5. In the Authorization area, configure access to the display as follows:
    • Select Disabled to disable password access to the display. The Password fields are disabled.
    • Select Local to enable password access. Enter a password in the Password field, and then enter it again in the Re-enter Password field.
      Note: Valid characters are uppercase letters A through Z and numbers 0 to 9. The password can range from 1 to 40 characters in length.
    • The option Default is available on compatible firmware release modes, 10.6 and later, and is the default option for those release modes. The option means that the password is determined by the device. Refer to your local controller display documentation for further information. Refer to Setting up a local display in CG Series General Purpose Application Controller Installation Guide for details about equpment controller and display compatibilty.
  6. Click Apply. The display configuration is saved. This change becomes effective after you transfer the application to the controller. See Transferring the Application of the Display Device.
