Procedure
- Click Transfer > Transfer To Computer (Upload). The Transfer to Device Wizard appears.
- In the Connection Type section, select the connection type: NxE Passthru, Bluetooth, MAP 4.2+ / BACnet Router, ZigBee, or Direct Ethernet connection. For more information about connection types, see Connections.
-
In the Connection Parameters section, enter the connection parameters as follows:
- For NxE Passthru connections, select a host name or IP address from the list, or enter the device host name or IP address. Enter your user credentials, and then click Login. Select the correct supervisory device and the trunk.
- For Bluetooth connections, enter the baud rate and COM port information. We recommend you keep the Baud Rate default of 38400.
- For MAP 4.2+ / BACnet Router connections, specify the following:
- IP address and UDP port of the router.
- Network number of the MS/TP trunk (1-65,534).
Note: Do not use 1001 for the MS/TP Network Number. The MS/TP Network Number 1001 is reserved for Johnson Controls IP network connections.
- An available Ethernet network interface adapter to use.
Note: If you select an available Ethernet network interface, all IP traffic intended for the MAP 4.2+/ BACnet Router travels through this interface.
When you first open the wizard, the default connection parameters for connecting to a MAP Gateway at version 4.2 are automatically displayed. If the connection parameters are modified, the values are stored in the wizard for future use. To restore the connection parameters to the default values, click the MAP 4.2 Default button.Note: For further information about the MAP and common troubleshooting issues, refer to the Mobile Access Portal Gateway User's Guide (LIT-12011999). - For ZigBee connections, enter the PAN offset.
- For Direct Ethernet connections, enter the UDP port of the device and an available Ethernet network interface adapter (if selected, verify you are on the same subnet as your IP controllers) to use.
-
In the Discovery section, enter the type of discovery process you want to use: automatic (Auto), MAC Address, IP Device, or Instance Number. If you select MAC Address, enter the device address. If you select Instance Number, enter the device BACnet instance number.
Notes:
- The Instance Number is only available if you select a BACnet IP trunk. IP Device is only available if you select Bluetooth. MAC Address is only available if you select an MS/TP trunk.
- The Instance Number of 1 is reserved for the tool and should not be assigned to controllers.
-
Click Next.
Note: If you select the MAC Address, IP Device, or Instance Number discovery type, the tool skips the Device Selection Screen and the Transfer Summary Screen appears. Go to Step 9. If you select the Auto discovery type, go to Step 7.
-
When the Device Selection Screen appears, click Discovery if the wizard does not automatically begin the discovery process.
Note: Once the desired device appears in the list, click Stop.
-
Select a device from the list and click Next. The Transfer Summary Screen appears.
Note: You cannot connect to a device that has a duplicate Instance Number. If more than one device has the same Instance Number, the numbers display red in the device list. If you select a device with a duplicate Instance Number, the Next button is disabled until you select a device with a unique Instance Number.
-
Click Finish. The transfer to computer status appears.
Note: When the transfer to computer completes, the Finish button changes to Done. This change does not happen if you select the Close wizard after successful transfer check box on the Transfer Summary screen. Instead, the wizard closes.
-
Click Done.
Notes:
- If the selected Controller Application File requires an upgrade, the System Upgrade dialog box appears.
- If the selected device is unlicensed, the CAF is set to Artificial Field Device.
See the Troubleshooting section if you are experiencing trouble transferring the files to a computer.
