CCT software and field controller packages require license activation using the Software Manager, which is installed during CCT installation. For further information on software licensing, refer to the Software Manager Help (LIT-12012389).

The availability of field controller packages per brand and the license key is based on local market business rules controlled through the ordering system. Once field controller packages are obtained, import a field controller package by double-clicking on the package collection file or use the Package Importer, located in the Start menu. The Package Importer displays the message Finished importing when the import is complete.

To license CCT software and field controller packages open the Software Manager from the Start menu. To add a license, click Add License and then choose the activation method you would like to use for the license: Online with a Product Key, or Offline with a License Activation File. Once added, CCT software and field controller package licenses display in the License Inventory.

If CCT is licensed, the first time you open the application you must accept the End User License Agreement before you can use CCT. If you do not license CCT, the Software License Check displays the following message: This software is currently unlicensed. Click the Open Software Manager button to launch Software Manager and license CCT software.

If you do not license field controller packages, certain limitations occur. For example, if you open an application with an unlicensed device, a dialog box informs you that the device is not licensed. Unlicensed field controllers are set to Artificial Field Device or Artificial IO Device and cannot be set in the Define Hardware wizard. In addition, the transfer of CAFs to controllers is disabled for unlicensed devices. See the Getting Started with Trunk Utilities and Transfer Wizard sections.
