RS485 serial protocol bus segments require proper EOL termination to reduce interference from signal bounce back on the bus segment.

MS/TP Bus applications require a terminated device at each end of each MS/TP Bus segment. See the Wiring Rules and Guidelines for Network Integrations section for more information on EOL requirements on an MS/TP Bus.

The BACnet Router is shipped with the EOL switch in the factory default, ON (up) position (Figure 1). See Figure 2 to determine the appropriate EOL switch setting for the BACnet Router on the MS/TP Bus.
