About this task

Important: If you do not have an offline backup file for the WRG and you replace the WRG or its attached ZFR1831, you must perform a physical reset of all WEFC connected on that PAN. This is due to security certificates being mis-aligned between WRG and WEFC.

To replace an existing WRG1830 Gateway, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Disconnect power from the WRG1830.
  2. Disconnect the connected ZFR1831 Coordinator Radio.
  3. Disconnect the network Ethernet cable.
  4. Remove the USB Wi-Fi dongle.
  5. Verify replacement WRG has the latest released firmware before connecting to wireless network.
  6. Replace with new WRG1830 and follow the steps in Installing the WRG1830 Wireless Router Gateway. Once the WRG Gateway is operational, the WRG Gateway automatically updates the firmware on the ZFR1831 Coordinator Radio if required.
  7. Allow up to 15 minutes for the WEFCs to rejoin the network.
