Use information in this section to determine the optimum location to mount the WRG Wireless Router Gateway, ZFR Pro Routers, and WRZ Sensors and to estimate the number of additional repeaters required.

  • The cable that connects a WEFC or WRG to its associated ZFR can be up to 30 m (100 ft) long to allow for better placement of the router/coordinator in the space.
  • Every router/repeater should be within 75 m (250 ft) (recommended) of at least two other routers/repeaters that are part of the same network (PAN).
  • Best practice is to keep the entire network (PAN) contained within a single floor or wing.
  • Minimize the number of hops (Router to Router communication) to transmit a message to the coordinator.
  • Every WRZ Sensor should be located within 15 m (50 ft) (recommended) of at least two router/repeaters. WRZ Sensors communicate only directly with router/repeaters.
  • For best sensing and control, follow the locations as outlined in General HVAC Wiring & installation Requirements when you determine the WRZ sensor locations.
