In this configuration, the FX80 Access Point feature is turned on temporarily to provide a browser or FX Workbench with access to the platform or station running on the unit. The Access Point can support three or more simultaneous tool connections.
When configured for Access Point mode, tools such as laptops and mobile devices can connect to the WiFi adapter and access all features available over a wired Ethernet connection. For example, a tablet device can view web pages or a laptop running FX Workbench can upgrade software.
When used for connecting tools, you can leave the WiFi in disabled mode, then switch on when a user needs access to the unit. Additionally, you can configure a timeout period to disable the AP mode after a certain period of inactivity. On reaching this timeout limit, the WiFi adapter is shut down completely. To restart the adapter, you must move the WiFi Selector Switch on the unit to OFF. Once the WiFi Current State shows Stopped, move the WiFi Selector Switch back to ACC.
