About this task

Through the use of the Launcher, the BCPro and BCT use a private Java® Runtime Engine (JRE) that is not exposed to possible security risks. The Launcher manages a list of all devices, BCPro servers (workstations), and BCT computers at your facility.

To install the Launcher application:

Procedure

  1. Open your web browser and enter the URL or IP Address for the BCPro Workstation. Examples:

    http://MAIN-BCPRO/metasys

    http://10.10.15.100/metasys

    The Windows Launcher Download screen appears (Figure 1).

    Note: Three terms on the Launcher Download screen apply to a system sold in other Johnson Controls markets. SMP is equivalent to BCPro, SCT is equivalent to BCT, and Metasys is equivalent to the Building Management System.
  2. Click Full Launcher Installer and refer to the Launcher Installation Instructions (LIT-12011783) for completing the installation of Launcher.
  3. After installation, close the web browser. By default, the Launcher (Figure 2) screen appears after installation if you install the full version of the Launcher.
  4. Refer to the Launcher Help (LIT-12011742) for instructions on how to manage a list of all workstations, devices, or any generic Web site links that require a login.
